After a six day hearing in the Chancery Court, Mr Justice Maughan refused petitions for the reorganisation of Dorman, Long and Co., involving a reduction of capital from £11,248,000 to £1,750,000 and amalgamation with the South Durham. Steel and Iron Company. Subsequently Mr Justice Bennett, in the Chancery Division, granted a debenture holder permission to apply for leave on December 8, to serve a motion to appoint a receiver for Dorman, Long and Co.
