NO OVERTIME.
Dispute Arises on Rotorua.
No overtime was worked on the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua last evening through a labour dispute. The men working in three of the six hatches were ordered back to work overtime last night, but later they intimated that unless all the men in the six hatches were' ordered back to work overtime they would not resume after the tea hour. The owners of the ship would not accede to the watersiders’ demands and the vessel lay idle last evening. Personal. Mr C. G. Porteous, of London, son of Mr G. Porteous, Lyttelton, has been notified that he has passed the examination for chief engineer. Mr Porteous served his apprenticeship at the Addington Workshops and until recently was in the Blue Star Line. The men resumed work as usual this morning.
