Unsettled Weather To-day for Races. (Received October 8, 1.5 pun.) MELBOU RNE, October 8. The weather for the races is dull and threatening and rain fell overnight. At Flemington Peter Pan (A. Knox) galloped a mile on the course proper in lmin 50sec, th? last six furlongs taking lmin 19sec. Precious Pearl did a mile on the grass in lmin 44sec. Admiral Drake (L. Whittle) defeated Ferncliffe over nine furlongs on the tan in 2min 3sec. Silverton (P. Courtenay) did nine furlongs in 2min ssec. Lady Trivalve ran a mile and a half in 2min 50sec. Baba galloped four furlongs in 53sec. Fictitious did four furlongs in 502 sec. Middle Watch (Walter Scott) covered two furlongs in 26sec. Sanballat did the best two furlongs of the morning on the tan in 24£sec. Compris was given a useful task. At Caulfield on the grass Composer went a mile in lmin 52sec, the last three furlongs taking 38sec. On the tan Kuvera went two furlongs in 24isec. Rulanut, going better than Lady Pam, did three furlongs in 38-lsec. Phocis covered a mile in lmin 49sec. Vauntry did three furlongs in 43sec. Johnnie Jason ran five furlongs in lmin 14sec. Scotch Valor did the best two furlongs of the morning in 24sec. Ammon Ra did cantering work. Lance Gay did two furlongs in 25sec. Tsuma and Eastern Chief covered seven furlongs in lmin 36sec.
