ANNUAL SPORTS.
Christchurch Boys’ High School. MANY PARENTS ATTEND. Although weather conditions were not altogether favourable yesterday afternoon for sitting out-of-doors there was a large crowd of interested spectators at the Christchurch Boys’ High School annual athletic sports, held at the school grounds, Straven Road, Riccarton. The parents and friends of the boys look forward eagerly each year to visiting the beautiful grounds and watching the various events. Among- those who witnessed the sports were: The head master, Mr G„ J. Lancaster, Mrs Lancaster and Miss Ethne Lancaster, Miss P. M. P. Clark, principal of the Christchurch Girls’ High School, Miss M. Samuel, principal of the Avonside Girls’ High School, Mr C. T. Ascliman, chairman of the Canterbury College Board of Governors, and air J. H'. E. Schroder, a member of the board. Mr T. W. Reese, the first senior monitor of the school, and Mr W. Bassett, who won the senior championship forty-five years ago yesterday, were also present.
