LONDON WOOL SALES.
Prices Advance all Round on July Rates. SUSTAINED COMPETITION. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. I (Received October 8, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. At the wool sales 8342 bales were offered, including 3950 bales of New Zealand wool, of which approximately 3060 bales were sold. There was a good assortment of New Zealand wool, which met with sustained competition at steady prices. Compared with the closing July rates fine Merinos now show an advance of 10 per cent, medium and inferior of 5 per cent, fine cross-breds 10 per cent, coarse crossbreds 5 per cent, slipes 5 per cent to 10 per cent, and lower grades par to 5 per cent up. The following New Zealand lots sold as follows:—• Greasy cross-breds—KS/TB (top price 9id), average 6§d; Montalto (12id), llfd. Scoured—Gray Hills (20d), 17£d. Dalgety’s Report. The London wool sales continue with a good demand, but prices fluctuate somewhat from day to day. About S 3 per cent of the offering is sold daily.
