(Special to the “ Star.”) DUNEDIN, June 4. Mr J. A. Smaill has bought Hystride which runs in his name to-day. The attendance was good for the final day. In the Tahuna Steeples French Singer led the field to the water jump where French Fleet, who had been going along comfortably, took the lead. Graball came with a good run approaching the straight, but could not head French Fleet, who won comfortably, performing the hat trick. In the Aldworth Handicap Colonel Cygnus had another good win and Sailing Home had to be content with another second. Sailing Home was always among the leaders. Colonel Cygnus was lying fourth to the far turn. He came fast in the straight to win in a canter by two lengths. In the King George Handicap Fast Passage had another easy win. Securing the lead by a length after going a furlong, she maintained it all the way to win by a clear two lengths. Rational 11. was going third most of the way, with Red Heckle last. Red Heckle made a great run in the straight, to be beaten by a short head. The Greenfield Hurdles race was a tussle between Captain’s Gift and Morena, who at once established a long lead from Rameses and Membo. Captain’s Gift was first into the straight by a length and maintained the lead. In the Empire Handicap, Fair Weather, First Money and Gold Pit were in front all the way. Fair Weather led into the straight to win easily by two lengths. In the Steeplechase, Valves led all the way except for a short time when The Babe was in front. Valves took the lead again turning out of the straight and maintained it to the last fence, when Nylotis threw out a challenge, but Valves beat him off.

In the Domain Handicap, Kerbside at once went to the front and established a two lengths’ lead, but stumbled in the straight, and Last March came up to win in a .hard-fought finish by a neck.
