'''CRANLEIGH, the favourite, *put up a fine performance in the Paparua Handicap, the principal event at Addington o-day. He proved an easy winner, after having to cover a onsiderable amount of ground in order to get into a good losition. Yesterday he won the Advance Handicap. Impromptu, rho Was bracketed witli Great Logan on the machine, ran into econd place; this was the third successive occasion on ■which le has finished second. Grand Canyon was third. Colorado put up a fine performance to-day. After winling the second race, the Peninsula Handicap, by a neck, he ras penalised 36yds in the fifth race, the Ellesmere Handicap. )espite this, he was able to put in a great run in the straight, fter having been inconspicuous for the greater part of the ace, and beat Mountain Ore by a length. His running to-day tamped him as a much improved horse.
