NEW METHODIST CHURCH.

Opening and Dedication Service. The opening ceremony and the dedication service in connection with the new Methodist Church which has been built at the corner of Cashel Street and Ollivier’s Road, Linwood, were held this afternoon. ' There was a very large congregation, many of those present having to stand throughout the service. The opening ceremony was performed by Mrs J. W. Dower and the minister, the Rev F. Greenwood, offered up the dedication prayer, the congregation joining in the responses. The address was given by the Rev M. A. Rugby Pratt, president of the Methodist Conference. A window in memory of men from the church who served in the Great War was unveiled by Major R. A. Row. The cost of the building is approximately £2200, of which £1230 has been raised by the congregation and £9OO has been obtained on loan, free of interest, from the Methodist Loan Fund for ten years. Among numerous gifts to the church is a small pipe organ, costing £IBO, which was presented by an anonymous donor.
