In 1924 Mr John F. Hutchinson and Ir F. W. White commenced business i Christchurch as auctioneers. iand nd estate agents, continuing until 1926, ?hen they sold their entire interests, 'he last four years have been gener lly recognised as lean ones, but the rospects for the future warrant a reurn of general confidence. So much o is this the opinion of Mi Hutchinon and Mr White that, together with Ir Meredith (late Penrose and Mereith), they have commenced business s auctioneers, furniture salesmen and eal estate agents. For this purpose hey have secured what can really be aid to be the finest auction rooms in Christchurch, covering a total floor pace of over 5000 square feet, the rell-ventilated and commodious aucion and show rooms adjoining the link Taxis Garage, overlooking Vicoria Square. The premises are in he heart of the city, yet free from ongested traffic. “It is in times like the present,” emarked one of the 'principals, “ that usiness requires personal and direct ttention and the firm, recognising that heir interests are bound up with the ome life of the general public and the lan on the land, intend personally to upervise all commissions entrusted to heir care. At all times our personal ervices will be available and we will o our best to assist in any project rhich may be contemplated.” The new firm have already several uction sales arranged, to be held in heir rooms, and confidently anticiate continued support from their lanv friends among the public. “We are particularly keen,” connued the principal. “ to establish and laintain an up-to-date range of city, iburban and farm properties, either >r sale or to let, and will welcome sceiving particulars of all properties vailable.” The offices and showrooms will open n Monday, June 6, to transact all r asses of business during the usual mrs. 1
