Shelter at Lancaster Park .

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—lt is quite time that the Canterbury Rugby Union gave consideration to the question of providing shelters or break-winds on the embankment at Lancaster Park. From year to year the union has increased the accommodation on the embankment, but apparently they have not been interested in the comfort of the the majority of spectators. To have an icy southerly whistling round your back has the effect of damping enthusiasm. If the union provided some shelter for the “ bankites,” who after all. represent the majority of Rugby patrons, attendances would increase. In the Old Country people, who cannot afford stand accommodation, are at least protected from cold winds. Why can’t the Canterbury Rugby Union follow the example?—l am, etc, BANKITE.
