Eastern Problems.
To th« Editor. Dear Sir, —Like “ A.C.E.,” I am of the opinion that Japan is acting under pressure from the capitalistic powers of Britain and America to force an issue with Soviet Russia. It looks to me that the Soviet Five Year Plan is so successful that these Great Powers are out to disorganise and obstruct the Soviet’s effort to show the working classes the way out of the mire. Where are the League of Nations, the No More War and the Disarmament crowd? Britain and America had the floor in these movements and now what do we see— Britain and America supplying Japan with arms and munitions to force war upon Soviet Russia. Then again, a few weeks ago Britain and America were interested in the Japan-China conflict, favouring China, and to-day we are welcoming the Japanese Navy in New Zealand. What is the answer?—l am, etc., O’M.
