In addition to the inter-provincial ! amateur boxing tournaments arrafiged with both the Timaru and Marlborough i Associations against Canterbury to be held in Christohuroh at an early date, the Christchurch Sports Club has been asked to arrange for one With the Grevmouth Association, also at Christchurch. Similar tournaments with Wellington and Otago at Christchurch this season are.also under consideration. Mr G. P. Aldridge, the secretary of the .New Zealand Boxing Association, has notified the Christchurch Sports Club that he expects to be in Christchurch at an early date to confer with the committee. M’lnnes Beats Broadfoot. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 3. A professional boxing contest to-night between Tommy M’lnnes and Jim Broadfoot attracted a large crowd to the Town Hall but the match ended disappointingly. Broadfoot had injured an ear in training, and during the early round M’lnnes connected frequently to this ear. A professional boxing contest between Alan Campbell (Timaru), 12st 41b, and Bill Sullivan (Hastings), 12st 21b, was staged here to-night and resulted in a win for Sullivan on points after fifteen rounds of hard fighting.
