To the Editor. Dear Sir, —Will you please inform me women have to pay the Is in the £ unem ployment tax, since when, and if it applie to domestic servants. What other tax oi income do women have to pay? D women have to pay the 5s per quarter Thanking you.—l am, etc., ENQUIRER. Women have to pay the one shilling i the pound unemployment tax. The Ac came into force on May 1, 1932. They ar also liable for the tax on income other thai salary and wages for the year endin March 31, 1932, if their income other thai salary and wages is more than £2O. Th rate is one shilling in the. pound on th whole, with an exemption on the first £2C Domestic servants in private homes ar exempt from wages tax. If the private income is more than £2O it must be de dared, and the tax paid. The 5s a quarte is paid by males only.—Ed., “Star.”
