TIMARU SHOW.

Improvement in Horae* of All Classes. ENTRIES SATISFACTORY. Glorious weather favoured the 66th annual show of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day at the show grounds, Smithfield. The total entries were only some sixty short of last year, which must be considered very satisfactory, especially as the South Canterbury district has not been favoured with the necessary supply of rain for some months past, and as the figures show the entries of sheep and cattle have been most affected. On the other hand, there was an improved showing in horses of all classes, light horses and ponies being a strong feature of the show this year. Hunting is a popular sport in South Canterbury and hunters naturally form very large classes. Farm produce and adult cookery classes also attracted increased support. The following table shows the entries for this year, in comparison with those of 1928, 1929 and 1930:
