SYDENHAM TALKIES.
The most spectacular aerial production yet made, “ Dirigible,” which will be screened at the King’s Theatre Talkies, Sydenham, to-night, Thursday and Friday, also has the additional value of strong dramatic and romantic interest—in brief, a story that would have been a good one even if it had not been framed by amazing scenes of storms and disaster, and of adventure at the South Pole. The picture covers a terrific canvas, in which the outstanding thrills are the destruction of a huge airship; a stunt dive by an aeroplane completely through a hangar; parachute leaping from the dirigible; and the desperate battle back from the South Pole of the survivors of an exploration party after their ’plane had crashed. Those are shots to gasp at. Besides the thrills, “Dirigible” also presents Jack Holt and Ralph Graves as a co-starring team again, with Fay Wray sympathetically cast as the heroine. Packed with incident and drama, * Dirigiblemust, be regarded as one of the year’s outstanding offerings.
