A majority of the Indian Princes, who are members of the Chamber of Princes, generally approve of the plan for a Federal Government for India. They include the rulers of Hyderabad, Mysore, Travancore, Kashmir, Gwalior, Jaipur, Baroda and Jodhpur. The populations of those States at the last census was 40,405,000, out of a total of 80,835,000 in Indian States. Of the fifty-two other States of any importance the majority, including Bikanir,* favour federation.
