ROYAL GOD-DAUGHTER IS MARRIED IN LONDON.
The King and Queen were very interested in the plans for the wedding of their god-daughter, Aliss Anne Keppel, who married Mr Philip Broadmead at St. Alargaret’s, Westminster. Aliss Anne is a daughter of Sir Derek Keppel, who, for more than twenty years, has been master of the King’s Household, states a London writer. After the wedding a reception was held in the State Apartments of St. James Palace, specially lent by the King to the bride’s parents. The bride wore deep parchment satin with an exquisite Brussels veil and very long train of Brussels net. Her sister was chief bridesmaid;; she wore apricot georgette, long and tight-fitting, with a little short velvet coat with a flared basque. These short velvet coats are very much in the mode for weddings; they are picturesque, and at the same time they give warmth on chilly days. There were two little bridesmaids, Alarigold, daughter of Lord and Lady Hillingdon, and Rosalind, daughter of Lady Victoria Forester. They also wore apricot georgette, made to their ankles. The bride has received many wonderful presents, including several from royalty; a platinum chain with a pendant of diamonds and rubies was sent from the King and Queen; a beautiful Sheraton table from Princess Alary, an old walnut clock from Princess Victoria, and a lively old fashioned silver tea caddy from Princess IJelena Victoria.
