DAGENHAM The Wonder Works at Dagenham Reach, River Thames ♦ ♦ ♦ ❖ Progress that is little short of amazing has been made with the construction of the vast new Ford works at Dagenham. This tremendous factory—one of the largest of its kind in the world, with an output capacity equal to that of all other English motor works combined, is planned to employ more than 15,000 workers. , ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ The Dagenham factory to-day represents a noteworthy achievement by British architects, British contractors, British manufacturers of concrete and steel. Only a little more than 18 months ago they were shown 500 acres of waterlogged land on the banks of the Thames. To-day the home of a new industry is in being on that same spot.

The PAINTING and DECORATING of the Ford New Home and Service Station was carried out entirely by T. H. Davies & Co., who work or all the leading Canterbury Builders and Contractors. Other notable work carried out regularly by this firm includes N.Z. Government, Union Steam Ship Company Ltd., North Canterbury Hospital Board, Canterbury College Board 6f Governors, Christchurch Technical College, McLean Institute, Christchurch City Council, Federal Club, and many others, Recent buildings painted and decorated throughout include • Public Trustee, T. &G. Buildings, Epworth Buildings, N.Z. Government Departmental Offices, Church of Christ, Knox Church, Tai Tapu Dairy Co. Ltd., St. James Theatre. T. H. Davies <Sr Co. is recognised as one of the oldest and most reputable of Painters and Decorators in New Zealand, having been established in 1884.
