WEDDING.

HEESE—PAYNE. * The wedding was solemnised recently at St Luke’s Church, Manchester Street, of Doris Irene, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. P. Payne, Montreal Street South, and Robert James, eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. J. Heese, Burwood. The ceremony was performed by the Rev G. W. Dent Mr E. Lomas presided at the organ. Fashioned on slender lines, the bride’s frock of ivory satin was rucked to fit closely at the waist, which was encircled with a narrow stitched belt and finished with a diamante clasp. The fully-flared skirt fell in soft folds to the ankles, and was embroidered in a true-1 over’s knot of pearls and finished at the back of the neck with a bow. Her tulle veil, heavily embroidered, was arranged from a coronet of orange blossom and formed a long train. She carried a bouquet of white hothouse 'owers, with touches of pink. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by a trio of bridesmaids. Miss Myrtle Payne, sister of the bride and chief attendant, wore a frock of delphinium-blue satin, cut on classic lines, with a scalloped cape falling from the shoulders at the back and finished with a bow. The skirt, fully circular, fell in soft folds to the ankles in scalloped hemline. Her hat was of blue felt, trimmed with a large velvet bow, and she carried a bouquet of pink hothouse flowers. Miss Gwen Gott and Miss Eileen Payne, another sister of the bride, wore frocks of salmon-pink satin, with drooping pink felt hats, stitched in gold and finished with a large velvet bow at the back. Thelma Blood, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl, wearing a frock of del-phinium-blue crepe de chine and a bandeau of tulle. She carried a basket of blue and pink flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr C. Cashmere, best man, with Messrs C. Ayers and P. Brothers as groomsmen. The reception was held at the Selwyn Street Hall, where over 120 guests were entertained. The bride’s mother received the guests. Her frock was of wine celanese relieved with fawn, worn with a felt hat to match and a black seal coat. Her bouquet consisted of autumn-tinted flowers. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy celanese frock with a vestee of fawn, a white and navy felt hat relieved with oriental trimming. Red flowers formed her bouquet. For her travelling toilet the bride had chosen an attractive frock of winecoloured wool crepe de chine with a fawn collar, a smart beretta to match; and a coat of kolinski fur.
