ATHLETICS.
CASH CLUB HOLDS EVENING MEETING. The Canterbury Cash Athletic Club held their weekly meeting last evening. Good racing and cle.se finishes were witnessed. J. R. Atkinson ran a very fine race to win the 135yds. J. Archbold, who won the 880yds, also ran well. Results were:— 135 YARDS. First heat: R. M'Kinnon 1, L. Higgins 2, R. £•. Thompson 3. Second heat: M. Macdonald 1, J. R. Atkinson 2, AY. 13. Oracle 3. Final. Atkinson 1 M'Kinnon 3 Atkinson ran a great race to win by one yard. Gracie just beat M’Kinnon on the tape. SSO YARDS. J. Archbold 1 J. Moran 2 R. Drury 3 Moran led all the way until the Straight was reached. Archbold, who showed a fine finishing effort, then went to the front and won by five yards. Drury ran well to finish third.
