THE LESSONS OF HEALTH WEEK.
SCHOOL CHILDREN AGAIN RECEIVE FRUIT AND MILK.
“Health Week” was advanced a further stage to-day, when school children again attended the Civic Theatre, where health and scenic pictures were screened. As was the case earlier in the week, the children were provided with milk and apples. Advantage is being taken by a large number of people of the City Council’s offer to remove refuse from private premises.
The following is the programme for the remainder of Health Week:— Thursday (16th): li a.m.—3ZC, “Dietetics,” by Dr H. T. J. Thacker. 7.30 p.m.-—3YA, 44 Household Hygiene,” by Mr M. Kershaw, Senior Inspector, Health Department.
Friday (17th) : 11 a.m.—3ZC, “ Cooking Hygiene,” by Miss J. Beck, Christchurch Technical College.
7.45 p.m.—3YA, “Dietetics,” by Dr H. T. J. Thacker. Saturday (18th): 11 ajn.—3ZC, “General Sanitation,” by Medical Officer, Health Department. 7.30 p.m.—3YA, same subject by Medical Officer, Health Department. Sunday (19th): 2.45 p.m.—City Band Rotunda, musical programme by Derry’s Military Band.
N.B.—l.—At Plunket Society’s rooms, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., exhibition of ideal food and clothing for the preschool child.
ll.—Karitane Baby Hospital open to visitors each afternoon.
HI-—On application to Town Clerk, free removal of refuse from houses will be made during Health Week.
