THE PROBABLE COST.

(Special to the “Star.”) WELLINGTON, October 15. In presenting Professor Hornell’s report on Arapuni to the House this afternoon, the Hon W. Taverner, Minister of Public Works, made a brief ministerial statement. He had referred back, he said, to Professor Hornell the question of the approximate cost of the remedial measures recommended in the report, and had received a further report indicating that the probable expenditure would be between £500,000 and £600,000.
