DECLINES TO COMMENT ON ILLEGAL TACTICS.

(Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, July 2S.

After Mr M’Kenzie’s outbreak at the Rugby test dinner on Saturday night, Mr Baxter, the British manager, made a heated and uncomplimentarj' remark. This morning he was given an opportunity to express his views on the subject of obstruction and shepherding. He mistook a knock at his bedroom door by a reporter as heralding a maid with a cup of morning tea, and promptly declined to say anything for publication. A report of Mr M’Kenzie’s remarks appear on page 14.
