The matter is at present in the hands of the Christchurch Navigation and Trading Syndicate, which has received the reports of several engineers on the proposal. The nominal capital of the company will be £IOO,OOO. The members of the syndicate are: Messrs Jack Leonard Clarke (New Zealand Merchandise and Agency Company) ; Jack Douglas M’Gregor (retired, New Brighton); William John Franklin (accountant, Borthwick and Co.); James Hutchins (accountant and secretary) ; and Edric Harold Stringer M-ganiser).
