ESTUARY PORT COMPANY WILL BE CONSTITUTED.
CAPITAL WILL BE £100,000; PROSPECTUS TO BE ISSUED SOON.
In a few days, the prospectus will be issued of a public company to build and operate a port on the estuary at Heathcote. The matter is at present in the hands of the Christchurch Navigation and Trading Syndicate, which has received the reports of several engineers on the proposal. It was stated this morning that these reports will be made available to the public in the course of a few days together with the prospectus which is now being drawn up. The nominal capital of the company will be £IOO,OOO. The members of the syndicate are: Messrs Jack Leonard Clarke (New Zealand Merchandise and Agency Company) ; Jack Douglas M’Gregor (retired, New Brighton); William John Franklin (accountant, Borthwick and Co.); James Hutchins (accountant and secretary) ; and Edric Harold Stringer M-ganiser).
