"SINBAD THE SAILOR ” AT CIVIC THEATRE.
“Sinbad the Sailor,” the pantomime Ahich Unlimited Charities are presenting at the Civic Theatre, is a delightful attraction. Mr L. E. Vernazoni, who is resopnsible for both the libretto and the productio.n has done excellent work. There are music in nie : v, ballets and dance solos o' client standard and originality, a good sprinkling of timely topicalities, and a rich vein of humour that is well introduced—not too subtle and not too obvious. There are many different scenes, and in the majority of them the settings are rich in colour, while the exotic costumes of the players help to make a splendid effect. The players in “Sinbad” are to be congratulated on their all-round performance. There is plenty of amateur talent in Christchurch, and this pantomime is fairly representative. Individually the principals make successes of their parts, and each and every one required to do so sings well. “Sinbad the Sailor” will be repeated
