TALE OF ESPIONAGE COMING TO CRYSTAL

Fresh from triumphs all over the world, eliciting only the highest praise from bored critics, “The Spy” opens a brief season at Crystal Palace Theatre next Monday, for which the box plans open at the Bristol Piano Company on Thursday morning. “The Spy” is no’ a war picture. Tt is modern, oost-war drama, a story of the espionage Service. Two great and powerful espionage services are at bitter enmity, the one controlled by law and order, a Government service; the other controlled by “Hagbi”, a lame Russian banker with thre*' aliases and three complete disguises. The war of wits that occurs between the police and Haghi is cleverly conceived, but things assume the real hues of melodrama when Sonia, Haghi's ace card and a dangerous woman spy, and No. 236, the Government’s best man, are matched against each other. IJnfortuntely for the plans of all, these two fall in love, and when duty, no matter how illegal, and love, no matter how hopeless, enter things, things must happen. They happen in "The i?py” in swift and disconcerting succession.
