By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. WASHINGTON, March 20.

For the first time in the history of Congress, an army of Government employees, numbering several thousand, stormed the House of Representatives, demanding the passage of legislation extending, on an average, a three hundred dollars annual increase of pay for clerks other than Federal employees. The army, led by a woman, was composed of men. women, boys and girls, including negroes. It overwhelmed the House Committee of Civil Service, which is inquiring into this question. The House will probably act shortly on the desired legislation.—Aust. and N.Z. Press Assn.
