A message from New York on March 1 said: —“Four hundred British performers in the United States are facing possible reprisals for the British refusal to allow Alden Gray, formerly an obscure American actress, to perform in England because she is not British. The Actors’ Equity Association threatens to refuse to allow numerous British actors to continue to work in the United States on similar grounds. The discussion may me the biggest international stage row for years.”
