A most enjoyable musical treat was given last evening at the Caledonian Hall, when a song and instrumental recital, arranged by Miss Kathleen Garven and Miss Nellie Hayward, was given in aid of the Mission Sisters’ new fresh air school. The concert attracted a large audience and the performers received a great deal of applause. Miss Kathleen Garven wore a handsome draped gown of gold lame mounted on gold shaded net, with a draping of georgette from one shoulder, and the side train panel of lame lined with georgette. Miss Nellie Hayward wore a frock of prixnrose georgette, the bodice veiled with beaded and sequinned net, and with a long draped panel at one side. Miss Nan Ellis, lemon georgette, the bodice stitched in deep scallops on to the skirt, the skirt being hand-painted round the hem in a flower design. Miss Marian Hayward, white georgette scalloped at the hem and waist, each scallop being outlined with brilliants. Miss Pauline Ellwood, attractive frock of white georgette, beaded in an all-over design in silver. Miss Nellie Ellwood, crocus mauve crepe de chine, with a deep vandyked bodice, and a flame shaded flower on one shoulder. Miss Anita Graham, maize georgette with a wide skirt hem and yoke of ecru lace, and trimmed with hand-painted flowers. Miss Sheila Karl, white georgette, the skirt hem cut in Vandykes with an inset band of the material, crvstal pleated, and a scarlet flower on one shoulder. Miss Joyce Seth-Smith. uncommon frock of black taffetas with an uneven hem effect and a deep yoke of blush pink georgette, the georgette in a bow on the bodice with long ends falling to the hem of the skirt Miss Stella Hayward, geranium red georgette with pleated inset panels, and beaded in an all over design in silver. Mrs E. Brosnahan. effectne frock of carnation pink georgette with narrow picot edged frills on the skirt opening in front over a full length panel of cream frilled ninon. Miss Phoebe Fleming, black georgette frock with touches of Oriental trimming. Miss Bessie Pollard, floral taffetas frock with a deep hem of gold lace.
