July 14. i The heat wave in the Eastern State* continues unabated and has now caused over fifty deaths, of which a dozen were due to drowning, or lightning. The remainder have been attributed directly to the heat. Acute suffering has been created and , there have been numerous prostrations. Many stores and offices have closed I early and production has been reduced i in some industries.
