NEW MOTOR VESSEL NOW ON WATER.
(Special to the “Star.") AUCKLAND, May 7. The Tonga Government’s new motor vessel Ilifofua, which remained fast on the. wavs when being launched on Thursday, was successfully floated yesterdav morning and afterward taken to the Central wharf to have 100 h.p. semi-Diesel oil engines installed. At the first attempt at launching the carriage on which the launch rested stopped before she reached the water. When examined later it was found that the wooden ribbon which guides? the carriage was bearing hard against the ways and prevented the carnage from moving further. After the defect was remedied there was no difficulty in launching.
