Aspirants for Olympic Honours.

The outstanding individual performer at the recent New Zealand championships was Leadbetter, the brilliant Christchurch sprinter, who equalled the Australasian record for the hundred, and registered a level 22sec in his heat of the 220 yards championship. On his present form, Leadbetter must stand a big chance of selection for the Olympic Games next year, says the Auckland “Star.'’ A disquieting feature of Wanganui’s batting against the Melbourne team was that Dempster, who was chosen for the trip to England, in.the face of repeated failures this season, again failed to get going in either innings, being bowled by Ebling for one run in the first innings, and being run out for 11 in the second. Dempster, on this season’s form was not included in the Wellington team.
