COMEDY FROM FIRST TO LAST THIS WEEK AT EVERYBODY’S.
AMUSEMENT IS KEYNOTE OF PROGRAMME.
The story of “ The Wilderness Woman ” is from the novel by Arthur Stringer, which appeared as a serial in the “ Saturday Evening Post.’/ Tt is a bright and sparkling tale of an Alaskan miner, who makes his fortune and then, with his daughter, goes to New York to spend it. The two descend on New York in outlandish clothes, and they are totally ignorant of the restrictions and conventions of' modern civilisation. The part of the miner’s daughter is very capably filled by Aileen Pringle. “ Bright Lights,” a Metro-Goldwvn picture, is the second attraction. The story is one of a theatrical girl who grows tired of life in New York and returns to her home in the country. Here she meets a simple country man, whose chivalrous conduct wins the heart of the heroine after her experiences with-city-bred men. Included on the supporting programme is another of the pictures in the series dealing with Captain Amundsen’s Polar expedition this year. A news film also is screened. As usual an excellent programme of incidental music is played by the orchestra under the baton of Mr W. J. Bellingham.
