RAILWAYMEN ANXIOUS WASH-OUT ON WEST COAST LINE.

The nor’-wester is causing anxiety to the railway authorities. A wash-out has been reported oil the Midland line between Arthur’s Pass and Cora Lynn. It is probable that passengers on the Christchurch-Greymouth train to-day will have to be transhipped there. Last year trouble was experienced by a moving bank near Grey mouth. Reports have been received that the bank is moving again, on account of the heavy rain, but very slowly. Trains had got through up to early this afternoon, but it was not known then how the sendee would be affected. Further reports stated that there was no possibility of getting through from Reef ton to Nelson and Westport.
