GOOD ENTRY OF SHEEP FOR A. AND P. SHOW.

The total entries for the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association s Metropolitan Show are fewer than those of last year when the Royal Show was held in Christchurch, but are slightly in excess of the figures for 1925. In the sheep section there is a good entry. Corriedales, English Leicester and Southdowns are stronger than even for the Royal Show, while all the other breeds, with the exception of Suffolk, are well represented. Shorthorns and Friesians have the biggest claim in the cattle section, and Jerseys are next, but there are no entries of Herefords or Polled Angus. The total is considerably less than that for the Royal Show. The entry of horses is 494, compared with 647 i for the Royal Show and 593 for 1924. The principal decreases are in competitions and draughts. Entries classed under the heading of miscellaneous are greater than those of either the Royal Show and .the 1924 fixture. The details of entries in the Various'sections are:—
