EX-PRESIDENT TAFT HAS HEART TROUBLE.

WASHINGTON, June 6. Chief Justice William -H. Taft, the onlv living ex-President of the United Spates, is ill With heart trouble. He has been ordered to' leave his duties as Chief Justice for a time, and •*?' xaos he was nominated for the Presidency by the Republican I arty, and subsequently elected. He was President from 1909 to 1913. Chief Justice Taft was Secretary of War from 1901 to 1908, and as such was in charge of the .construction of the Panama Canal. He was appointed Chief Justice in J 921, He is sixty-nine years old.
