CABINET BROKE UP WHEN NEWS CAME OF OVERT ACTS.

BRITISH GOVERNMENT DEMANDS UNCONDITIONAL WITHDRAWAL OF STRIKE INSTRUCTIONS.

Under dramatic circumstances, a meeting of the British Cabinet broke up at midnight on Sunday, when it was officially announced that negotiations to avert a general strike had broken down. A Government statement giving the reasons for the breakdown declares that overt acts had already occurred, including interference with the freedom of the Press involving a challenge ttf the nation's constitutional rights. Before the continuance of negotiations the Government demands that the Labour Unions Congress repudiate those actions immediately and unconditionally withdraw instructions for a general strike.
