COMPETITION NOTES. RUGBY. In the Rugby competition the judging was rendered comparatively easy owing to the fact that many competitors were thrown out because they had picked Lin wood to beat Albion. A good many also picked Christchurch to win against Old Boys. Mr J. L. Leithead, one of the winners in the Rugby competition, also sent in another coupon which was remarkably accurate, although it was not awarded a prize. A number of competitors picked the correct score in the Old Bovs-Christchurch game. The actual scores in the Rugby games were: — OLD BOYS 11, CHRISTCHURCH 6. MERIVALE 24. ’VARSITY 9. ALBION 14, LINWOOD 5. Following are the scores given by the winners:—

LEAGUE. The work of selecting the winner of the League competition was very difficult owing to the large number of competitors who picked the right winners. The big scores registered by Sydenham and Hornby were evidently unexpected and few competitors picked anywhere near the huge totals run up by these teams. The results of the other two matches were forecasted very accurately by a large number. The actual scores in the League games were: — Marist A 20. Waimairi 15. Addington 21, Marist B 8. Sydenham 68, Lin wood 0. Hornby 71, Woolston 3. Mr Ockleshaw’s predictions were:— 20-16; 18-6; 50-3, 24-8. Mr Wynne’s predictions were:—2s-15; 24 6; 50-2; 215. SOCCER. The defeat of Villa A by Kaiapoi was responsible for many errors in the Soccer competition. The picking of the scores was not very' accurate as far as the majority of the competitors were concerned. Mr G. Simpson, the winner of the competition, sent in another coupon which was very accurate, and almost as good as the winning one. The actual scores in the Soccer games were:— Sunnj’side 3, Nomads 0. Technical 5, Addington Workshops 1. Kaiapoi 8, Villa 3. Thistle 2, New Brighton 1. Western 9, Lyttelton 2. The coupon sent in by the winner was:—3 1, 5-1, 3-2, 2-1, 4-1.
