MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. 'Before Mr 11. Y. Widdowson, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A female statutory first offender was fined 10s. in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. A male statutory first offender, who had not been before the Court for two years, was fined 10s, in default twentyfour hours’ imprisonment. Three male first offenders and two male statutory first offenders were each fined 20s, in default forty-eight hours’ i m p r i son ment. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Joseph James Mcllidine pleaded guilty to a charge of being disorderly while drunk. He was fined 20s, in default three days’ imprisonment. BREACH OF AWARD. A. and E. Stokes, confectioners, New Brighton, were fined 40s and costs for failing to keep a wages and time book.
LYTTELTON. (Before Messrs F. E. Sutton. J.P., and F. G. Norton, J.P.) Iwo first offenders for drunkenness were each fined 10s, the amount of their bail. William Hay, charged with assault and causing actual bodily harm, was remanded to appear on Wednesday. In asking for the remand. Sergeant Almond stated that the victim of the assault was still in hospital.
