BURGLARY ALLEGED, AND YOUNG MAN BROUGHT TO COURT.

Two dwelling-houses in Fernside were broken into in the full light of day last \Vedlle.sda3', and articles of a total value of £l6 17s were stolen.

The police laid tw r o charges against a young man, Stanley Gibbard Ilazeldine, in the Magistrate's .Court this morning, and asked for a remand. This was granted by Mr H. A. Young, S.M. The charges against Ilazeldine were: he broke and entered by day the dwell-ing-house of Claude Michington, and stole £l6 in money, a knife, and pair of suspenders, of a total value of £l6 ss, the propert} r of Michington; (2) that on the same day, at Fernside, he broke and entered by day the dwell-ing-house of William Rhodes and stole twenty-four cartridges, an electric torch, and a quantity of cigarettes, of a total value of 12s, the propert3' of Rhodes.
