QUEEN’S HAS TWO ATTRACTIVE PICTURES.

The latest and most brilliant success achieved by Miss Constance Talmadge _ in “ Iler Sister From Paris.” which gave boundless amusement. to patrons of the Queen’s Theatre last night. This is a gay and sparkling comedy, associated with the popular

conception of the lighter side of Parisian life. ,r Her Sister From Paris” was supported last night by a Rudolph Valentino picture. This player, with Miss Nita Naldi. makes “ A Sainted Devil” a feature worth seeing. In addition there was the thirteenth episode of “Samson of the Circus.” BRIGHT COMEDY AT EVERYBODY’S. At Everybody’s this week the first Christchurch screening is being given of the First National Comedy, “ Clothes Make the Pirate." It is an excursion into a new sphere of comedy, weaving round a simple but interesting plot, a series of the most ludicrous and screamingly funny situations imaginable. Also on the programme is “ The Tenth Woman," a most interesting drama of feminine psychology, in which a touch of comedy is delightfully introduced. The heroine makes a cult of sensation rather than of originality, and invariably has reasons to regret. The orchestra. under Mir W. J. Bellingham, plays a delightful and appropriate collection of music. GRAND HAS FILMS OF GOOD QUALITY. “ Sporting Life.” which heads the current programme at the Grand Theatre is a story with a theme that grips, a story as far removed from the ordinary type of picture plot as the Poles. * Daddy's Gone A-Hunting ” is the title of the second feature, in which Percy Marmont, star of innumerable screen successes, and beautiful Alice Joyce fill the principal roles. It is a picture well worthy of these clever young people. It has every essential quality of the first-class motion picture, and would be quite worthy of a place as the leading feature of any bill.
