Replying to the Auckland Labour members’ telegrartn regarding unemployment in Auckland, Mr Coates wired: "Your representations will have every consideration- Very careful inquiries are being made by the Minister of Labour as to the number of unemployed in different centres. Inquiries are also being made as to what works i on which unemployed could be placed are likely to be taken in hand.”
