TRAIN HITS CAR AT ANTIGUA STREET.

DRIVER ESCAPES UNINJURED; FORE PART OF MOTOR DAMAGED. Hit by the Belfast working men’s train, which was coming into town last evening, a taxi (No. 444), driven by Mr C. Macintosh, was turned completely’ round at the Antigua Street crossing. The driver escaped uninjured and the car was only damaged about the front wheels and bonnet. The accident might have been much more serious had the train been moving fast. The car. which was being driven north, was on the line when the engine struck it about the left front wheel. The engine shifted the fore part and threw the whole car clear slewing it right round facing the south’
