The opening match of the Australian Eleven's tour against the Minor Counties’ team was fixed to start at Maidenhead to-day. Rain, which commenced overnight, fell up to eleven in the forenoon. The wicket was sodden and after examination it was decided not to play before lunch. The match, which is a two days’ fixture, does not count in the averages.
