“ OH! FOR SUNSHINE.”

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Aus. and. N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 29, 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 28. There could not have been a more depressing opening for the tour than the midday scene at Holyport. Budding trees incessantly dripped on the shelters. Everything was overcoated, even the wicket, which was covered with a typical country improvisation of old forms, glass seed frames, and tarpaulins. It was in fairly good condition, and would have been playable, but the 9tttfield was very soft, affording no foothold for the fieldsmen. Collins surveyed the scene and said: “ It is all very nice, but oh, for some Australian sunshine.”
