Five Tivnaru men who went for a motor ride on Friday night in the direction of Pareora had rather an unenviable experience. When they got as far as Fairview, the car broke down, and had to be driven back to Timaru in reverse gear, and pushed by the members of the party up the various hills that had to be negotiated. On the outward journey a start was made at 9.30 p.m., and Timaru was reached on the return journey at 2 a.m. yesterday.
