THE Best Story I Have Heard by Chas. W. Hervey. TW O business men were standing in Hereford Street. One produced a cigar case and, taking out a cigar, was about to put the case back into his pocket when he remembered his friend. He offered him the remaining cigar. They were walking along together some minutes later when the gentleman who had paid for the cigars remarked: “If there’s anything I like it is a good cigar.” “ Same here,” said his companion. “ And do you know,” said the other, “ these are the best I’ve smoked for a long time. They’re really good. How much do you think they cost?” “ I’ll give in,” replied the gentleman. “ Well, they’re just a shilling for two.” “ Humph.” said the other. “And I’ll bet you’re smoking the nine-penny one.” Mr P. J. O'Regan, the well-known Wellington barrister, will tell a story tor “ Star ” readers to-morrow. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllilllllillllllHflt
