The United States Lawn Tennis Association took steps on Saturday to authorise the visit of teams to Australia, England and France. Approval was given to plans to send at least two leading men players this year to participate in Wimbledon jubilee and French nation championship tournaments, and at least two men wili go to Australia for the championships next winter. A rule was passed making Miss Elizabeth Ryan eligible to represent the United States in the Wightman Cup matches in England, in which foui American women will play. The United States Lawn Tennis Association has approved of the following tennis dates:—-National singles, the week beginning on September 1?, at the West Side Tennis Club, New York.

Challenge round of the Davis Cup, September 9 to September 11. at the Germantown Cricket Club, Philadelphia. The treasurer reported that the association’s financial condition was the soundest in its history, the assets totalling over a hundred thousand dollars. The association’s profits from the National singles tournament in 1925 totalled thirty-five thousand dollars, and from the Davis Cup challenge round six thousand. The association is dividing nine thousand dollars of its annual profits among a certain number of country clubs to promote tennis.
