FORESTRY MEN ARE PROMOTED.
Mr W. T. Morrison, Conservator of Forests for the Canterbury and Otago region, has been promoted to the position of Conservator of Forests for the Rotorua region, and his brother, Mr W. G. Morrison, who has been for sixteen and a half years senior forest ranger in charge of Haiimer, has been promoted as his successor at Christchurch. Mr W. T. Morrison, who left for Rotorua last Friday, was the recipient of a presentation from the region, Mr J. Hetherton, in charge of the office staff, referring to Mr Morrison’s wide experience in the forest service, in which he has been an officer for the past twenty-five years. The presentation to Mr Morrison took the appropriate form of a tennis racquet, as he has been an enthusiastic member of the Avonside and United Tennis Clubs for some years. Mrs Morrison was given an entree dish. Mr W. G. Morrison, of Hanmer, who is also a familiar figures- in tennis circles, wilf take up his permanent residence in Christchurch in the course of a few days.
