G BASS FA r —ARGYLL. A large gathering of friends and relations assembled at the Presbyterian Church, Alayfield, an Wednesday, the occasion being the marriage of G. Glassey, son of the late Air and Airs Glassey, Ruapuna, and Christine, eldest daughter of Air G. Argyle. Ruapuna. Tho bride was attended by her two sisters, while tho bridegroom’s brother acted as best man. The Rev Air Kirkland was the officiating minister, and Aliss Eden presided at the organ. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Ruapuna Hall ; subsequently the newly-married couple left for the north on their honeymoon. LAURIE—AIESSENGER. A wedding was solemnised in St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston - North, on June 3 when Lilian Ada, elder daughter of Air and Airs AV. 11. Alessenger, Palmerston North, was married to James Park, younger son of Air and Airs F. A. Laurie, Petone. The Rev G. T. Brown was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty tunic frock of brocaded crepe dc chine trimmed with swansdown, draped at the side and caught with a pearl ornament, and she carried a. shower bouquet. They both woro pretty white hats and carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. The bridegroom was supported by Air F. Laurie as best man, and Air AA\ Hamer as groomsman. Recently a wedding was solemnised at St Colomba Church, Horsley Down, when Doris Honeybone was married to Gordon Dalzell. The ceremony was performed by the Rev AV. Orange (AAaikari), and Air Vere Honeybone, brother of the bride, was best man. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a three-piece suit of grey French marocain. the vest being of tucked henna crepe de chine and coat and front panel stitched with henna and blue silk. Her hat was a close-iitting grey velvet, with henna apd blue trimmings. She carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums with pink tints. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of (ho bride’s parents, Mrs Honeybone receiving the. guests. Later in the afternoon the happy couple left by motor amidst showers of confetti for the station. from where they travelled by train to Christchurch on route for the south, where tho honeymoon was spent. AYORAIALD- JIA YES. A wedding was solemnised recently at the Opawa Baptist Church, when Sybil Aland, youngest daughter of Air E. Hayes, Addington, and the late Mrs Hayes, was married to Clifford George, youngest son of Airs Rate, of AYaltham Road, and the late Air G. S. AYormald. The Rev. L. C. Jf. Barbour officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a simple frock of ivory orepc-dc-ohene draped to one side and finished with a pretty pearl tassel. AYith this was worn a beautiful pearl necklace. Her filmy veil fell from a dainty coronet of pearls and orange blossom. She* carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Aliss Nora AYormald. sister of tho bridegroom, attended ns bridesmaid.* She wore a dainty frock of shell pink satin marocain and a coronet of tiny hand-made flowers to tone. She also carried a boquet of pink chrysantemums and fern. The duties of best man were carried out. by the bridegroom’s brother, Air R. AYormald. Rater a reception was held at the Selwyn Street Hall where Airs H. AYhall, sister of the bride, received the guests. She wore a chic frock of dove grey marocain, relieved with Chinese blue and a. hat to match, and she carried a small nosy of choice flowers. Airs Bate, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart, knitted costume of rust and blue and hat of black hatter’s plush. She carried a posy of violets and fern. During the evening, when over eighty guests assembled, games and dances were indulged in and items were given by Aliss J. AYormald. sister of the bridegroom, Air K. Boslier, Rev. C. 11. Barbour and Air AUG ill. Rater. Air and Mrs O. AYormald left by motor on their honeymoon.
